In the second quarter of 2026, the global economy continued to seek stability amid the lagged effects of tight monetary policies and ongoing geopolitical tensions. While demand conditions and trade volumes in developed markets remained cautious, uncertainties in global financial markets kept fragility alive.
The Turkish economy, meanwhile, recorded 2.3% year-over-year growth in the first quarter of 2026. During this period, gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices reached approximately 20 trillion TL.
When examining the economic activities that make up GDP, the following changes were observed in 2026 compared to the same quarter of the previous year:
- Other service activities 3.2%
- Financial and insurance activities 2.1%
- Real estate activities 2.1%
- Agriculture, forestry, and fishing activities 13.3%
- Construction activities -1.9%
- Industrial activities 2.4%
